Best Season for Jugal Himal Base Camp
Spring (March to May) and Autumn (September to November) are the best times for the Jugal Himal Base Camp Trek. The days in spring are warm and sunny with comfortable temperatures. Nights in higher sections can be chilly. However, they are manageable with a good sleeping bag.
The real magic of spring is that the whole trail gets decorated with rhododendrons and colorful wildflowers. Also, the long daylight hour means you can explore scenic areas at your own relaxed pace while admiring spring’s refreshing atmosphere.
Autumn stands out as another ideal time for Jugal Himal Base Camp trek. The autumn air is crisp and dry. In addition, this season offers great visibility which lets you see incredible mountain vistas even from a distance.
In both of these seasons, the weather stays stable and pathways are well defined. So, you can traverse smoothly and complete the trek as planned. Because of fewer clouds in the skies, you can see snow capped peaks without any obstruction.

Jugal Himal Base Camp Route
The Jugal Himal Base Camp Trek begins with a drive from Kathmandu to Tembathang. From Tembathang, the route takes you towards Chhendang (2,635 m) through forests, hillsides and small settlements.
The next day, you will ascend the serene Ne-Pemachhal. It is a perfect spot to stay for a night. You will stay one more day here to let your body adjust to the altitude. This day, you can also enjoy an invigorating acclimatization hike up to the viewpoint at Gyap Kharka.
The following day takes you to Palmothang, where you rest overnight, before an early morning ascent to Yang Kharka (4,700 m). It is a base camp area for Jugal Himal. You will stay at this base camp at night.
The morning after, you will begin your return journey. You will descend from Yang Kharka, stay at places like Ne-Pemachhal and Chhendang for the next two days. Then, the morning after, you will trek out of Chhendang, reach the road head of Tembathang and enjoy a scenic drive back to Kathmandu.
Accommodation
During the Jugal Himal Base Camp trek, your accommodation will be arranged in a mix of home stay and tents. In the lower sections, you can stay in a simple homestay or mountain huts. This region is still remote. So, accommodation facilties are basic. The reliable and electricity or Wi Fi may not be available everywhere.
Higher up, especially near base camp and in the remote sections, you will stay at camps. Here, your team will manage everything needed for your comfort. You will also get your meals at the homestays and camps along the way.
Even in this remote area, the basics needed for the adventure will be managed. While luxury facilities are not available, you can still get a comfortable place to rest and enjoy the Himalayan views.
