Everest Base Camp (EBC) is one of the most desired trekking destinations in the world. It lies at an altitude of 5500m above sea level at the foot of the world’s highest mountain. Everest region also includes various side treks, including Everest Three High Passes Trek, Everest Panorama Trek, Everest Gokyo Lakes Trek, and others.

Awe-inspiring views of Everest Mahalangur Himalayas are the prime attraction of this EBC trek. You can observe spectacular views of Mt. Ama Dablam while trekking to reach the Everest Base Camp. Kalapathar (5545m) is an excellent viewpoint that provides you with the best views of Mt. Everest. Besides that, Lhotse, Nuptse, Cho-Oyu, and others look spectacular from Kala Pattar.

Everest Base Camp starts from Lukla as we pass through settlements of the Khumbu region. Namche Bazaar, also known as Sherpa Capital, separates the Everest Base Camp route from Gokyo Lakes. Trekkers will pass through Tengboche, Lobuche, Dingboche, Periche, and Gorak Shep to arrive at EBC.

Everest Base Camp trek requires proper physical fitness and stamina. You need to trek for around 5-6 hours per day for two weeks. Appropriate training before this trek is essential. Besides that, you will need to acclimatize and hydrate well during your trekking journey to tackle altitude sickness.

When to Go Everest Base camp

Spring (March to May) and Autumn (September to November) is ideal for trek Everest Base Camp. These are the peak seasons as they provide stable weather conditions and a tranquil atmosphere. Trekkers can also observe unobstructed views of snow-capped mountains.

There are snowy trails in Winters which makes trekking in this season quite challenging. Summer-Monsoon season brings heavy rainfall in the region, and the Himalayas remain covered in clouds. Hence, Spring and Autumn are the best times to take this trek. However, if you love some adventure, you can still trek in the off season with proper preparation.

How To Reach Everest Base Camp

There are two ways you can go to Everest Base Camp, Kathmandu by bus to Jiri, Bhandar followed by Classics route approximately 19, 20 days or Take flight from Kathmandu to lukla followed by about 12 days.   Many people use flight to base camp trek, it is quickest way
