Annapurna Circuit Trek is one of the popular trekking routes in the Annapurna region. This trek is a journey that spins around the great Annapurna Himalayan range. This adventurous trek is rich in overwhelming sceneries, impressive lifestyles, unique culture, and ancient traditional practices.

The Annapurna Circuit Trek- 18 Days itinerary begins with a jeep drive from Kathmandu to Dharapani. The jeep ride over the bumpy trail is scenic. From Dharapani, the trek begins in actual. The trek route passes through the scenic villages of Chame, Pisang, and Manang.
At these villages, you will have opportunities to interact with the local people. You will see diverse ethnic groups and their unique traditional practices. The trek route passes through mesmerizing natural variations. During the trek, you’ll cross various rivers, walk across various waterfalls, and trek into lush green forests.
You will also see the incredible views of towering peaks of Annapurna and Gangapurna from Manang village. You’ll see the brilliant views of Gangapurna Glacier and the Manang glacial Lake as well. After an acclimatization day in Manang, you will trek to Yak Kharka and then to the Thorung High Camp.
From the Thorung high camp, you will cross the Thorung La pass, 5416 meters. Reaching the top of the pass requires spirit. Once you reach there, you will see lots of colorful Buddhist prayer flags. You can also enjoy the spectacular Himalayan panoramas from the top of the pass. After crossing the pass, the trek route takes you to a sacred religious site of Hindu and Buddhists, Muktinath temple.
From Muktinath temple, the trek route passes through Jomsom, Marpha, and to Lete. On your way, you will see the gorgeous Kali Gandaki river. From the village of Lete, the trek passes through the village at Tatopani, Ghorepani, and to Tirkhe Dhunga. You will see the diverse ethnic groups while walking across these villages. From Tilkhe Dhunga, the trek route passes to Nayapul, from where you will drive back to Pokhara.
Our 18 Days Annapurna Circuit trek is suitable for all levels of trekkers. Trekkers who are physically fit and mentally strong can easily do this trek. The trekking itinerary includes an acclimatization day at Manang. This will help you to acclimatize with the thin air before you climb the high altitude Thorung La pass.

Best Time for Annapurna Circuit Trek 18 Days
Unlike most of the other Himalayan treks in Nepal, the Annapurna circuit trek is doable in any time of the year. However, Autumn (September to November) and Spring (March to May) are the most popular time for Annapurna circuit trekking. Because of the bright and sunny days with fairly stable weather conditions, Annapurna Circuit Trek is best during Autumn and Spring. However, the trek is doable throughout the year.
Difficulties During Annapurna Circuit Trek 18 Days
The Thorung La Pass, 5416 meters is a high altitude pass. Crossing the pass is tough. You are at higher risks of altitude sickness. Moreover, climbing to the top of the pass and crossing it is highly challenging. It demands more physical strength.
This 18 days Annapurna Circuit Trek is a long duration trek. Also, it covers a long distance. Trekkers who are not used to long distance trekkings might find it difficult to complete this trek. There are some trekkers who feel exhausted and quit in the middle of the trek.
Crossing the Thorung La pass in monsoon and winter is quite challenging due to unstable weather and climate. In monsoon, the trekking trail becomes slippery and wet. In winter, the Thorung La pass might remain closed due to heavy snowfall.

We can organize a half day tour to some of the monuments like Kathmandu Durbar Square, Pashupatinath, Boudhanath, and Swayambhunath. The half-day sightseeing is organized so that you receive enough leisure time for rest and prepare for the following day’s trip to Annapurna Circuit. We will be meeting our trekking guide the same evening briefing about the entire trek at the hotel. Overnight at the hotel in Kathmandu.
The day begins with the drive to Dharpani by jeep from Kathmandu via Prithvi Highway. We go through Dumre -Besisahar – Bhulbhule – Bahundanda – Tal– Dharapani . Passing across pretty waterfalls, small streams that join the Marsayangdi River, suspension bridges, barley and potato fields, numerous overnight camps with tea house occupies the entire way towards Dharapani Overnight stay at Dharapni.
Today Our trekking destination is Chame, which is Headquarters of the Manang Distric, we will walk through of forest with amazing Views of Massif Annapurna 11, Annapurna IV and Lamjung Himala. On this day we will cross local village and some small hotspring as well. Over night Lodge in Chame.
The day starts with a trek to Bhratang and from here into a deep forest in a steep and narrow valley. We cross a river on a long bridge over Marsayangdi River and encounter the soaring Pangdi Danda (a rock face) escalating more than 5,000 feet from the stream. Continuing ahead, we walk across dry grazing land to reach the place called Dhukur Pokhari through which the trail joins to climb Pisang. Overnight stay at Pisang.
Today, we continue our trek through the drier upper part of the Manang district. On the route, we discover the typical Tibetan styled houses and the people who live within – herd yaks and raise crops for part of the year. Through high cross with ups and downs the valley of Ngawal to the descending Munchi, we reach Manang village. Overnight stay at Manang.
An important rest day for acclimatization before reaching high altitude and up to Thorang –la, here with short hike exploring Manang village beneath towering Annapurna and Gangapurna peaks, a nice short hike up for views of Gangapurna Glacier and the Manang glacial Lake.
After a good rest at Manang, walk towards Yak Kharka, an interesting high altitude walk with views of mountains, crossing small streams to reach at Yak Kharka, a small settlement with incredible views of Gangapurna, Annapurna III and Chulu Peaks.
Morning walk leads closer to Thorang-la as the walk progress crossing a bridge and then a climb along the Jarjung river, then leading at Thorung Phedi for short rest and then climb the last hour uphill to Thorang High Camp for overnight stop.
Start the early morning walk on this Big Day! A thrill and highlight of this great adventure, after breakfast a long climb up to Thorang-la with steep haul to reach at 5,416 m / 17,700 ft on top of Thorang-la festooned with Buddhist prayer flags.Highest point of the adventure certainly requires high spirit and strong mind to reach this high point.The top offers superb vista landscapes and snowcapped peaks, from here a long descend to Muktinath at 3,800 m.Muktinath a holy place for both Hindu and Buddhist the word Muktinath literally means ‘the place for Nirvana or Liberation’.
After Muktinath, rest of the journey is easier with moderate walks all the way with a big drop of 1,200m downhill to Kaligandaki river valley, this pleasant walk leads to Kaligandaki river valley, from here walk to Jomsom, headquarter town of Mustang area with a small airstrip above Kaligandaki River. After Jomsom walk to Marpha, one of the most charming village with white painted houses, paved streets and well kept lodges. At Marpha celebrate with apple products cider, brandy and juice this area from Kagbeni to Larjung is famous for delicious apples.
From Marpha onward, walk is enjoyable following Kaligandaki river downstream with views of Tukuche peak, Dhaulagiri and Mt. Nilgiri walk to Larjung village, after few hours walk getting back into tree lines of pine, oaks and rhododendron forest and then reaching at Kalapani village, another lovely village with grand views of Mt. Annapurna I, Nilgiris and Dhaulagiri, a short downhill brings at Lete village for overnight stop.
Walk from Kalapani and Lete onward leads to dramatic change in vegetation and climate, as walk leads between two giant peaks of Dhaulagiri and the Annapurna forming world deepest gorge.
The first two hours of trek leads through Ghasa village with view of snow capped peaks into forest.
After Ghasa a southern end of Mustang area mostly dominated by Thakali people ethnic tribe till Tatopani village.
This pleasant walk continues leading back to paddy fields in warm sub-tropical climate to Tatopani passing beautiful waterfalls of Rupsi.
Tatopani (Hot Spring) village the valley is quite constricted and it is quite warm with sub-tropic climate and vegetation, Tatopani is another nice village with large hot spring pools just by the bank of the River Kaligandaki.
After a wonderful time at Tatopani, trek continues on the nice winding trail for an hour, our route diverts heading uphill with steep climb then with gradual up all the way through dense forest to reach at Chitre, from here an hour climb to Ghorepani village with fantastic views of Mt. Dhaulagiri and Annapurna South with Vara-Shikar known as Annapurna Fang.
Ghorepani famous and popular Pun Hill a view point offers super views of world’s three highest peaks and range of other mountains with striking sunrise and sunset.
Morning an hour hike to Pun-Hill at 3,210m for sunrise views over array of mountains from Mt. Dhaulagiri, Mt. Manaslu to Annapurna and as far to Ganesh Himal in the far eastern horizon including the majestic Mt. Machhapuchare “The Fish Tail”.
From here walk into lovely rhododendron forest, and then a long descend from Ulleri village to Tirkhedhunga for last overnight in the hills of Annapurna Himalaya.
Our last day of trekking leads downhill through nice farm villages and views of waterfalls near Bhirethati and then to Nayapul where this fabulous walks ends with couple hours drive to Pokhara after a wonderful time up in high mountains.
Overnight in Pokhara, a scenic and lovely spot with hotels by the lake Phewa where Annapurna Himal reflects on its pristine calm water.
After a marvelous time on high mountains and hills of Annapurna Himal, morning depart Pokhara after breakfast with overland drive back to Kathmandu.

Today, last day in unique Nepal of Himalayan wonders, after great adventure and experience on Annapurna Circuit trekking and as your flight time AGH staff transfer you to Kathmandu airport for your international departure homeward bound or to your next port of call.
