The 11 days Everest Base camp Trek and rerun by Helicopter trip start from  Lukla with a 30-minute thrilling flight from Kathmandu . Then, trekking alongside the Dudh Koshi River, you will follow the trails of Sagarmatha National Park and reach the getaway of Mt. Everest, Namche Bazaar. You will get variations in the route as you get the opportunity to explore the Khumjung village, too. After descending from the biggest village of the Khumbu region, you will enhance your positive energy by praying in the Tengboche monastery.

Watching the awe-inspiring view of Ama Dablam Lhotse, Nuptse, and Makalu, you will pass Dingboche and proceed further toward Gorak Shep. After walking the steep ascents leading to the Everest base camp, you can have an up-close view of Mt. Everest. You can stare at Everest till your heart feels fulfilled and end your trekking journey with a final hike to the high vantage point Kalapatthar.

The first classic part of the adventure ends. Now, it’s time for another exciting adventure, i.e., returning by helicopter flight. The 360-degree aerial view of the Everest region makes you feel like time should just stop at that moment. So, are you ready to add a level of adventure to your EBC trek?

How Difficulties 11 Days EBC trek and return helicopter

Though the EBC trek is one of the mainstream trekking trails, certain factors make the trek moderately difficult.

Steep terrains

The trail to EBC comprises rugged terrains with steep ascent and descent. Physical fitness and mental resilience are demanded to walk on these trails. Those who are not experienced hikers or have a good level of physical fitness may find this trek challenging.

High altitude

Altitude sickness is possible from an altitude of 2500 to 3000 meters above sea level. In addition, the Everest base camp trek elevates to a considerable height of 5364 meters. As the altitude rises, the percentage of oxygen in the air decreases. If you are not acclimatized properly, then you cannot adapt to the dropping oxygen level, leading to altitude sickness.

Length of the trek

The total distance to be covered during the EBC trek is about 60 km from Lukla to Kathmandu, which requires an average of 6 to 8 hours of hiking per day. Those who dont have a habit of walking for these long durations can experience exhaustion, leaving the trek incomplete.

Weather and climate

The weather at higher altitudes is unpredictable, especially during monsoon and winter. The sudden change in weather can cause trekkers like you to change their plans due to less visibility and snowfall.

The best time for Everest Base Camp Trek return by helicopter

Usually, people say that it’s the best time when you carry your luggage and decide to go for the trek. But that’s absolutely wrong. If you do so, then you have to face lots of problems on the trail, and above that, you can’t enjoy the trek.

So, for the EBC trek, September to early December and March to May are considered the best seasons. During the spring season, you will be able to witness the different shades of rhododendrons spreading their fragrance to the dense coniferous forest. In these months, the whole Khumbu region changes its geography by the color of spring.

Likewise, in the fall season, the festive atmosphere of the Everest region will capture your heart as people from different ethnic groups come together to celebrate the festivals. Additionally, the clear visibility will offer you a spectacular view of the panoramic Sierra.

Is this trip for me?

One question that strikes the mind of trekkers when planning to go on a trek is, “Is this trek for me?” or “Will I be able to complete this trek?”

Regarding the EBC trek, there are no technical difficulties during this trek, but you need to consider your physical fitness and mental stability. During this trek, you will need to pass various rugged terrains with some high uphill that demand physical fitness.

This journey might not be suitable for you if you have any medical issues, such as severe anemia, heart illness, or pulmonary issues, or if you are pregnant. Therefore, if you feel that you have the physical strength and capability to endure the trekking exhaustion, then you are all set for EBC trek.

Everest base camp trek and return helicopter cost 2024

You will be returning to Kathmandu via helicopter flight from Gorakshep, which will take about 45 to 50 minutes. Those short times in the air will be an unforgettable experience for you as you will create tons of memories flying like a bird among snow-clad mountains.

Adventure Great Himalaya has group heli and private heli services from Everest base camp. The flight will have 5 passengers and one pilot or instructor. So, booking the group heli will be economical for you as the total cost will be divided among the parties on a flight. However, if you book a private flight, all the total costs will be on you.

Adventure Great Himalaya is currently offering EBC trek returning by helicopter flights from Everest base camp at the most affordable prices available. The total cost averages around US $ 2650 per person.

Trek guide, Porter

Guides and porters are the inseparable part of trekking. These two functions are like the two hands of your body part while trekking. One guide for 5-6 trekkers and one porter for 2 people is provided for Everest base camp trek returning by helicopter package.

The trail to the EBC route may not be familiar to all trekkers. So guides will help navigate the routes, arrange lodging and meals, and provide information about the region. Moreover, our guides are government-licensed with training in first aid, so they will also help you handle altitude sickness, accidents, and evacuation when necessary, enhancing your whole experience.

Furthermore, carrying the heavyweight while trekking on the steep terrains is hard. The porters will help you carry the weight of your luggage, equipment, and supplies, making your journey comfortable and convenient. The porters we provide are experienced and well-equipped; every porter will carry the luggage of two trekkers.

Meals and Accommodation

The EBC trek falls under the mainstream trekking in Nepal. So, the accommodation and meal facilities are quite top-notch in comparison with other trekking trails.

Accommodations

Usually, teahouses and lodges are the common forms of lodging; however, the trail consists of some luxurious hotels if you prefer the upgraded quality of lodging. Under the standard package, you will be provided accommodation in the teahouse or lodge. The room will be furnished with twin or bunk beds, mattresses, blankets, and pillows.

Moreover, the teahouses won’t have attached bathrooms, so you will need to use the restroom in the shared vicinity, which may include squat toilets or Western-style toilets. There are also community rooms in tea houses where you may rest, interact, and enjoy the warmth of a fireplace. However, the hot shower services are not included in the package, so you will have to pay for this service out of your own pocket.

If you wish to upgrade the services of accommodations, you can switch to luxurious or custom-made packages.

Food

To accommodate trekkers worldwide, the teahouses and lodges alongside the EBC trail have various menus, from Nepali traditional food to regional food, Indian and Tibetan food, and foreign specialties. Furthermore, the foods have the options of veg, nonveg and vegan.

For Breakfast: You can order a hearty breakfast like eggs, bread, pancakes, porridge, cornflakes, soups, etc., to maintain your energy level for the hike and increase your endurance with altitude.

For Lunch and Dinner: You can expect some heavy staples like daal bhaat, tharkari, thakali set, dhindo, thukpa, momos, stews, and other wide variety of food.

The cost of the 3-time meal is included in the package; however, the cost of bottled and bar drinks is not included.

Require travel insurance

The EBC trek has potential uncertain risks and dangers, both physically and mentally. Travel insurance serves as a safety aid that will allow you to have peace of mind in terms of financial security in the event of an emergency or unexpected incident.

Moreover, when you are traveling with Adventure Great Himalaya, carrying proof of insurance is mandatory. The package doesn’t include travel insurance, so you should be insured with the policy covering all the medical expenses, evacuation services to rescue, air ambulance, and many more.

It is highly advisable to consider obtaining cancellation insurance, as a large number of travel insurance policies do not provide coverage for such expenses. This particular form of travel insurance will prove beneficial in the event that your trip is canceled due to unforeseen circumstances, as it will help mitigate the financial burden associated with pre-booked expenses such as transportation, accommodations, and other related costs.
