Daily Hiking Duration and Altitude
- Day 1: Fly to Lukla, then trek to Phakding. 3 to 4 hours’ walking time, gentle downhill from 2,860 m to 2,610 m. Easy, scenic, full of rivers and suspension bridges that kids love.
- Day 2: Hike from Phakding to Namche Bazaar, which takes approximately 5 to 6 hours. Gradual ascent from 2,610 m to 3,440 m via forests and small villages.
- Day 3: This day involves acclimatization. Go on a gentle 2 to 4 hour hike to the Everest View Hotel at 3,880 m for breathtaking mountain views.
- Day 4: Trek to Tengboche as you kike 4 to 6 hours to reach 3,860 m and view the beautiful ridges and famous Tengboche Monastery.
- Day 5: Climb to Dingboche. 5 to 6 hours walking in a very open valley, reaching 4,360 m.
- Day 6: Rest and acclimatization day. Optional short hike to Nangkartshang Hill at 4,700 m.
- Day 7: Back to Tengboche, Descend. Walk for 4 to 5 hours through scenic trails.
- Day 8: Trek down to Monjo. 5 to 6 hours walk; arrive at 2,835 m.
- Day 9: Easy walk back to Lukla. Walk for 4 to 5 hours comfortably.
- Day 10: Fly back to Kathmandu. Have a short 30 to 40 minutes of scenic flight, landing at 1,400 m.

Whenever you go on a trek in the Everest Region, make sure an official permit for everybody. The Sagarmatha National Park Entry Permit is the most important one. This permit lets you explore the park in safety while helping us to protect nature. All you need are passports and passport-sized photos for each family member and we will take care of the rest.
