Langtang Trekking  region is one of the most beautiful places in Nepal. This incredible place is rich in diverse flora and fauna. The trail then leads us to the ancient Kyanjing Gompa the next day, an incredible monastery in the Langtang region.

It is also known as the spiritual hub of the Langtang region. The following day, we will trek to Lama Hotel before taking the scenic route back to Syabrubesi. 6 Days Langtang Trek  Difficulty 

The Langtang Trek’s difficulty level is just on a moderate level. The overall difficulty factors of this trekking Himalayan exploration are milder than other high-altitude adventures. Langtang trek is perfect as an introductory Himalayan trek; you will not require any previous trek experience or technical skillset to do this trek.

 

You also don’t have to push your body to high alpine altitudes. The maximum altitude gain in this adventure is 4,773 meters (15,659 meters) at Kyanjin Ri. However, you will enjoy a slow-paced adventure and acclimatize properly, so the short hike to this vantage point won’t be a big deal. If you have a general fitness level and good health, you can complete this expedition with sufficient preparation time.

Best Time for 6 Days Langtang Hike

Spring (March to May) and Autumn (September to early December) have pleasant and stable climatic conditions. These months are the best time for Langtang Trek. You will enjoy a pleasant and gratifying trekking experience during these seasons.

 

The daytime temperature of the Langtang region during the autumn season can reach upto 30°C, and it can drop upto -9°C during the night. The festive ambiance, dry trekking trails, clear mountain views, and the stunning shades of the fall season are some of the key highlights of the autumn season.

 

Spring, on the other hand, introduces naturally enthralling and blooming trails. You will be able to explore the rich bio-diversity of the Langtang National Park. The temperature of the Langtang region during spring can reach upto 31°C. The night temperature is also comfortable and averages around 8°C.

 

Meals and Accommodation during 6 days Langtang Trekking

 

During your Langtang Trek, you can taste a wide range of delicacies, from authentic regional dishes to other Asian culture-inspired and Western dishes. For breakfast, you will be able to enjoy tasty light dishes like Chapati, Paratha, Pudding, Bread, Eggs, Toast, Jam, Butter, Oats, Pancakes, etc.

 

As for lunch/dinner, it is comprised of traditional and continental dishes like Dal Bhat Tarkari, Dhindo Gundruk, Thakali Set, Momo, Chowmein, Rildok, Thukpa, Shyaphale, Yak meat, Pizza, Pasta, Spaghetti, etc.

You will spend your nights at the tea houses/lodges during your trek. The rooms are clean and comfortable. You will use the rooms in these teahouses on a shared basis, with 2-3 adjacent rooms per room. The lodging facilities at the lower regions do have a hot shower and attached bathroom facilities, but they are limited at the higher altitudes.

 

6 Days Langtang Trek Required Permits 

In order to explore the iconic trekking trails of the Langtang region, you will require two permits:

 

  • Langtang National Park Permit
  • Trekkers’ Information Management System (TIMS) Card

 

The cost of the permit for Langtang National Park is US$ 30 for foreign trekkers, NPR 1,500 for the citizens of SAARC nations, and NPR 100 for Nepali trekkers. As for the TIMS Card, it costs NPR 2,000, USD equivalent US$ 17 for international trekkers and NPR 300 for SAARC nationals. Nepali trekkers do not require a TIMS card.

 

You can easily get both of these permits from the Nepal Tourism Board’s office located in Kathmandu.

As for the personal nature expenses like snacks, beverages, laundry, internet, tips, etc, you will have to cover them on your own.

6 Days Langtang Trek Itinerary

Day 1

Drive From Kathmandu to Syabrubesi by Bus , 1,460m- 07 hours.

Starting your Langtang with a delightful drive, after breakfast, you will drive toward the north side of the Kathmandu valley. You will drive on the Prithvi Highway, and move alongside the banks of Trishuli River. After arriving at the small town of Dhunche, you will continue to drive across the terraced farms and small settlements, enjoying the spectacular views of Ganesh Himal to reach Syabrubesi.

Day 2

Trek From Syabrubesi to Lama Hotel 2,240m -06 hours.

Your trekking adventure on this day will take you to the Langtang National Park, the first-ever Himalayan national park in Nepal (est 1976). Trekking alongside the Bhote Koshi River and Lantang River, you will traverse across rhodendrons and oak forests. Your ascending trekking trail will then take you to Rimche [2,400 meters/ 7,874 feet].

 

Then, trekking through the bamboo forest alongside the banks of the Langtang River, you will reach Lama Hotel, your resting stop tonight.

Day 3

Lama Hotel to Langtang village 3,430m – 05 hours.

Today, you will trek toward one of the major highlights of this Langtang trek. After breakfast, you will trek alongside the dense forest with clear views of Lantang Lirung before arriving at Ghoda Tabela [3,000 meters/ 9,842 feet].

Moving further wth your trekking journey of this day, you will reach the Chaymki Village [3,230 meters/ 10,597 feet]. Then, trekking past the mani walls, prayer wheel, and chortens, you will reach the Langtang Village

Day 4

Trek from langtang village to Kyanjin Gompa 3,850m – 04 hours.

It is a short but scenic day’s trekking adventure today. Leaving the Langtang Village behind, you will follow the ascending trail and head toward the traditional settlement of Mundu. Trekking across the small plateaus, mani walls, glacial rivers, and yak pastures, your inclining trail will then lead you to Kyanjin Gompa.

 

There is also a cheese factory run by the government here. You can visit the factory to sample or buy the delicious yak cheese.

Day 5

Hike to Kyanjin Ri ( 4773m) overview of lanagtang Himalaya and Sunrise back to Lama Hotel 2, 470m -06 hours.

In this day’s trekking adventure, you will climb over the viewpoint of the Langtang region, Kyanjin Ri, for a stunning sunrise view. This vantage point will also reward you with incredible views of Langtang Lirung, Langtang Glacier, Changbu, Yubra, Tserko Peak, Tersgo Ri, Naya Kanga, and Kangja La Himal.

 

After enjoying the magnificent views, you will hike down to Kyanjin Gompa and enjoy your breakfast. Then, you will move along with your descending journey, trekking past Langtang Village all the way to Lama Hotel.

Day 6

Trek back to Syabrubesi, 4, hour and drive back to Kathmandu by Jeep

This will be the last day’s trekking adventure in your Langtang Trek. After breakfast, you will make your descent to Syabrubesi, descending along the trails of the Langtang River. You will trek across the lush landscapes of the regions and cross both Bhote Koshi River and Langtang River to reach Syabrubesi.

 

From here, you will board a comfortable vehicle and head back to Kathmandu enjoying the same alluring scenery of the first day. Hotel drop-off after arrival in Kathmandu.
